How
do I get to the Arajuno Jungle Lodge from Quito?
Via
Public transport:
Take a bus from the Quito bus terminal to the Tena bus terminal. Travel
time approx. 5 hours. Cost of bus ticket is approx. $6.00

you arrive in Tena you can take a local bus, hire a taxi or hire a private
vehicle.

Take a local bus from Tena
From the main bus terminal in Tena, go one block South West to the Centinela
Bus Terminal(if you are unsure which way is South West, just ask at the
main terminal where the Centinela Bus Terminal is). When you buy your ticket,
tell them you want to get off at the bridge crossing over the Arajuno river.
Travel time approx. 1 hour. Cost of local bus is approx. $1.50 We will meet
you at the bridge and take you up river via canoe (Canoe fare is included
in package price).
- Hire
a taxi from Tena
In Tena to take you to the Rio Arajuno bridge. The taxi cooperative is on
the south side of the Tena bus terminal. The ride should cost approximately
$20.00.
- Hire
a Private Vehicle from Tena
- You
can also hire a private vehicle or hire a driver to take you from Quito
to the Arajuno River. We will be happy to help you with making arrangements
for your trip. To hire a driver to take you to the Arajuno river from Quito
will cost approx. $150.00 one way.
- Directions
from Tena to the Arajuno Jungle Lodge
From Tena go south on the road to Puyo. After about 15 minutes, you will
cross the bridge over the Rio Napo. After crossing the river, on the south
side of the bridge, take an immediate left turn. Follow this paved road
until it becomes unpaved (approx. 20 kilometers). At this point, keep going
straight for anther 5 km until you reach the only large bridge over the
only large river. You have arrived at the Arajuno river. Cross the bridge
and park your car at the small store on the right hand side just past the
bridge. Travel time from Tena to the Arajuno river is approximately 45 minutes.
A representative of the lodge will be waiting for you at the bridge and
take you up river via canoe to the
lodge.
- VERY
IMPORTANT! All packages at AJL start at the Rio Arajuno Bridge. All
guests must be at the bridge for a 3:30 pm pick up
by the canoe that takes you on to AJL. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee
there will be a canoe waiting for you. If an additional canoe is required,
the cost must be added to the bill.
Where
is the Arajuno Jungle Lodge?
Of course there are no street signs or addresses painted on the curbs out here
in the jungle. Technically we are 1 degree 06 minutes and 12. 05 seconds South,
77 degrees, 35 minutes, 37.11 seconds W. To find the lodge on Google Earth,
search for Tena, Ecuador and follow the Arajuno river to the southeast.
